• Choose the fabric: We start by giving you a piece of cotton fabric to work with, which is the base for your batik.
• Final touches: The fabric is then rinsed and dried, and voilà—you now have your very own handmade batik!
• Dyeing the fabric: Once the wax has dried, you’ll dip the fabric into the dye. You can choose from a variety of colors!
• Sketching your design: Next, you’ll draw your chosen design directly onto the fabric using a pencil. Don’t worry, our instructors will help with ideas or templa
• Wax application (Canting): Using a special tool called a “canting,” you’ll apply hot wax to the outlines of your design.
